About Blue

Yanran Xiong is a visual creative who graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York.

Besides working in the fashion industry as a creative director and editor, she is passionate about painting. This led her to create Dame Blue— intrigued and inspired by motherly figures and their curvaceous bodies, notably, plump women whom are the body aesthetics to painters and sculptors in both western and eastern cultures since ancient times. 

To Yanran, the process and progress of hand-painting each Dame Blue is extremely meditative. Every Dame Blue she created becomes soothing to the viewer due to her expressive blue hue and her edgeless lines.

Each and every artwork is a limited edition. The artist hopes to make every human being who receives her paintings to feel special the way any motherly figure would.
